OSSOM is a young brand created by Ukrainian designer Olga Bryukhovets who has been based in Darwin, Australia since May 2018. Olga’s idea to create beautiful designs for everyday women was born with her son Leo when she had a great deal of time to think about her future. In her search for lovely natural fabrics and fashions to make women beautiful at affordable prices, Olga started to create clothes for herself. Working solo from home was also a way to be sure to have precious time to spend with little Leo.
Since coming to Australia OSSOM has already developed a following. Olga won a prize in the Get It On competition, organised by Injalak Arts – a well-known producer of Aboriginal printed cottons and linens. Olga is honoured to work with the precious hand-printed fabrics from local Aboriginal artists. Olga supports Australian fabric suppliers while also supporting her home country, The Ukraine, with its beautiful linens in pastel colours.
